Madcap sings and dances across multiple pages, discussing his plans to murder Deadpool when he see's the wrecked Avengers Theater and rubble of the Preston's house. Suddenly he's run down by a stolen horse-drawn carriage driven by the merc. As he tramples the figment with the horse, he shoots but only irritates the split personality.
Their battle continues when Deadpool reveals his recent trip to space. He pulls out a token and reveals something even better than a weapon for dealing with Madcap. While they're waiting, he throws out a few quips about Rogue, later shedding light on Deadpool's self inflicted emotional wounds.
Finally the Collector appears, and Rhiannon tests the excited specimen with decapitation and fire. The jokes keep coming, and the universal elder deems him worthy of his collection. Deadpool throws out some wicked final insults but is surprised when Madcap reveals he's ready to leave. Worse yet, he actually feels bad for Wade. As realizes he's made a mistake, the maniac bids him goodbye and Deadpool is alone to actually continue destroying himself.
The issue wraps in a phone booth. Stryfe reminds him that there's still business to attend to, and killing Evan, aka Kid Apocalypse is next on the list. Will he be able to do it? We'll have to wait until next time as this issue is left to be continued.
As soon as I saw Madcap on the cover, I knew it was time for a skid. As one of the longest running enemies inside Deadpool's head, it's bound to creep up sometime again, and I suppose now was the time. It's been recently announced that Duggan will leave following Deadpool 300. As the bucket list arc was progressing along nicely, hopefully this was just a speedbump. I give it a 7/10.
