Far under the Atlantic Ocean, a submersible approaches the Lock Box with a delivery when suddenly, the Zodiac Key becomes unstable. With the facility on lockdown, the two traitors open their box and reveal a few pumpkin bombs. In the explosion, the key breaches the hull and shoots to the surface while the Lockbox begins to fill with water and the two thieves kill the guards.

Meanwhile in England, Spidey and Mockingbird wait for the Zodiac to break out. He does so, and with one hour to spare of his advance knowledge, the Horizon reps blast him with a containment field. Unfortunately it’s no match for the key. With it back, he heads for London while at the lock box, the two bad guys keep on blasting.

London Calling.

At Big Ben, Spider-Man scales the massive clock tower. Thanks to Zodiac’s increasing desire to monologue, he tries to pull it off the transmitter but isn’t strong enough. He thinks quick, and since the key is binded to the maniac, kicks Zodiac out the clock face of the London monument. It disconnects from its housing and follows the falling criminal. With the download paused, a punch from Mockingbird knocks the Zodiac out.

KLONK!

With the crisis averted, Anna Marie Marconi uses the containment field on the artifact, and leaves with a job offer from Max at Horizon. Zodiac offers one last warning before being put in the police car, while elsewhere the two thieves from the Lock Box greet their customer. They hand a red vial over to the mystery man, and at once, Norman Osborne greets the terrifying symbiote Carnage. What terrifying evil can come out of this? We’ll have to wait as this issue is left to be continued.

Meet the Red Goblin?!

So with the news the past few weeks of various issues wrapping up, longtime creative teams being shuffled, and Marvel Legacy slowly coming to an end, it’s no surprise that Dan the Man Slott has saved the best for last. Carnage plus the Green Goblin is one of those rare chances a supervillain gets to become a super, SUPER villain. With Stuart’s pencils on the paper and Dan on the words, there’s no doubt this one is going to be epic. I give this calm before the storm a 9/10.
