As the news reports more murals care of the muse, it seems no superhero is safe. It's enough to even make Mayor Fisk ask just who this strange new artist is. Furthermore, he’s making the heroes of the city into victims and demands all resources be dedicated to the problem. Meanwhile, Matt Murdock tries his best to block his assistant out as he listens to the Kingpin’s conversation. When Steve asks if he’s ok, Matt urges him to continue as he keeps listening in.
Keep talking, Steve. |
As Fisk and Wesley move onto Sarnos, Matt heads to his office to have a word, running right into the mayor’s goon on the way. He later tells Kingpin not to send the cops after Muse, but Fisk surmises he got the info from Daredevil and threatens him with conspiracy charges for suggesting it.
Later Daredevil tracks Wesley to Little Italy, where he meets with Hammerhead about making the gangster the head of the department of corrections. From there, it’s a virtual who’s who of criminals, offering various government positions and ending with a meeting on Sarnos.
Wesley has been busy. |
The issue wraps with a chance meeting between the Muse and some girls when he tabs his next victims. Luckily the police are there for the ladies, but unluckily for the cops. He brutally kills them all. The next morning as the Mayor gazes upon the killer’s latest work, he’s incensed. But it’s a tragedy they can use. With that, this issue is left to be continued.
Muse is STILL better than Mike Del Mundo. |
After a multi-book absence, Ron Garney is back and partnered with masterpiece creator Charles Soule. And I’m glad to see the band back together. Seems Charles has his hands full lately, and although this book took a step with artwork, the story seems a little thin. Either way, if it takes Daredevil into some lighter waters while Astonishing X-Men continues taking leaps, so be it. Even with his eyes closed, pardon the pun, he still churns out some pretty decent stuff. I give this one a 7/10.
