High atop a mountain, an old man and his grandchildren overlook a bluff. They ask him why they can't just stay there. He says because the "heroes" here have already killed one of their kind. All because of what he MIGHT do. They'll kill all of them too so they have to strike first. So they can live without fear. He tells them they have to prepare as they all walk into an old weapons facility.
Where we going, grandpa?

Meanwhile not too far from there, Logan is happy to be away from the X-Mansion for a bit. He steps into a diner and immediately knows something is wrong. He asks for Lexi but the waitress says she has the day off. He sits at the counter and glances around and as the waitress pours his coffee he grabs her arm. There is no Lexi. The man behind the counter tells the rest of them no more pretending, but it is still a family business. He took something from them, and though he doesn't forget a face, they tell him he should remember their brother. They keep asking if he remembers but he pops his claws and tells them it ain't possible. But as the ringleader hulks up, he tells them it sure is.
Great. The people you wronged just happen to be hulks... FML.

"You killed our paw. You killed all our kin and now we're gonna kill you..." says the hulk gang. He can't believe it. He killed all of them except for the baby and Billy Bob. But that was back in the Wastelands. He claws through one of their skulls, as they slam him to the concrete. They all stomp him and he rises up and guts one of them. He thought with Banner dead in this timeline, it would have been over. Between punch after punch and stab after stab, he should have realized that if he found a way here, so would they.
He corners Billy Bob and asks how they found him. He tells Logan their paw found them. Billy Bob's explanation is cut short though as the ringleader throws a vat of hot grease on him. As Logan is burning to nothing but a skeleton, he slices the main Hulk's throat and he falls dead. Billy Bob freaks out and runs out the diner. He Hulk-jumps away and makes his escape.
BYEEEEEEE!

Back at the bunker, the old man rushes the kids out of the weapons bay while his goons load the missiles. Suddenly Billy Bob arrives and tells the old man what happened. He's outraged. As he rages into a massive green beast, he tells Billy Bob that because of his incompetence, they've lost four lives. He beats on him until a female hulk walks up and asks him to stop. He tells the others to keep packing trucks. Time is now essential.
She checks on Billy Bob, her brother, when later the old man tells her that if she ever defies him in public again, he'll kill both of them. The issue wraps with Logan recovering and putting on his jacket at the diner. He walks out past the dead bodies and has to tell himself to keep it together. Either way, it's a different ballgame now. He smelled it on them that there's more out there. And when he finds them, they're gonna wish they'd stayed in the hellhole they'd clawed themselves out of.
Oh now you're in BIG trouble!

Well done issue. I was concerned as this was a new creative team on this title but they not only held the mantle up, they didn't even reset the series. That in itself truly is a win in this new Marvel age. Ed Brisson and Mike Deodato prove themselves more than capable of pulling the weight this title deserves. If anything, this is actually higher caliber than the previous last couple of books. I'm really digging this storyline and can't wait to see where they take it. I give it a 9/10.
