After noticing some serious problems in the space time continuum, the original 5 + 2 X-Men find themselves in the future, and at immediate odds with members of the team from 2099. But in the nondescript parking garage, the future X-Men determine they're being truthful.

Future X-Men Powers: Know When You're Lying.

It's explained that the time traveling team thinks they missed their destination, but its later found to be no accident. The discussion will have to wait though, as the Alchemax public eye has found them all to be trespassing. They attack, and as the two teams work together, Jimmy almost shreds a dude. Warren remarks it's like Laura never left, and when the dust clears, they stand before Alchemax Plaza with a massive original X-Men Statue. They learn that the corporation was eventually taken over by the X-Men before they vanished, then hijack some motorcycles to tour the outlands as the squad from 2099 has something to show them.

Come see what you guys did!

All along the city's outskirts, sick humans and mutants alike suffer from a new Legacy virus. Their reason for suffering was preceded by several policies the original X put in place. While they take time to digest the new information, their tech is repaired. Unfortunately time to rest is interrupted by a large monster with the X-Men's faces on it. Cerebra suggests the original team make their time jump but they can't just leave. They do their best to help fight but it's barely able to slow down the onslaught.

Look, things are starting to get a little tough. We're gonna go ahead and bail on you dudes.

Finally the future team demands they leave, and do their best to return to a past to undue this dystopian nightmare. They finally agree, and as they apologize, are teleported back to the past. As they cautiously venture towards the school, they discover that this past already has a team of X-Men in it, though it's their younger mentored counterparts - Generation X - who now reside here. A conversation about what to do next is clearly forthcoming but will have to wait as this issue is left to be continued.

Oh hi guys!

You know, almost like something I can set my watch to, this issue just puts the series right back on even keel. A new adventure that doesn't rely on old canon. It's just what the story needed at the perfect time, and does an excellent job of not only re-introducing older characters, but doing it in a way that makes everything seem new. I liked this one. I give it a 9/10.
