On the orders of Cosmo the Spacedog, the Guardians and Nova Corps leap from a ship and see scores of Groot like flora attacking. And while Ant Man ponders how he can hear a dog speaking to him, he leaps into action, giant sizing from inside one and exploding it. Drax burns one to death, and with help from the now growing Groot, continues the firestorm before eventually the threat is over.

Hooray us! We killed EVERYTHING!

Meanwhile, Talonar keeps testing the Nega-Band when he prepares for battle. The news he's heard is that there's a criminal purge inside the forces. Rocket helps lead the arrest along with Star Lord, and eventually gains order - marching them all to the brig in the process. Director Adsit chides them for letting them all down.

Way to go!

Rocket walks alongside of him, explaining that the arrest was really all a charade. The supposed crooked Novas are actually better than the ones who appear to be exemplary. Those are the real spies and saboteurs in the corps. They return to the brig and kill the two actually crooked guards, explaining that the ones who thought they were under arrest are actually the best they have.

Oh we were just kidding...

The Raptors, thinking that it's time to strike, plan to attack on intel from the real Nova crooks. Talonar suits up while Adsit and Rocket try to talk their recent arrestees back onto the team. As they pass out weapons, they're surprised by a Raptor army, ready to finally rid the universe of the Novas. Only thing is that they're prepared for it on the other side of the Rock. What will happen? We'll have to wait as this stunning series is left to be concluded in the next issue.

Uh oh. Here they come...

Man, at the very least it would seem that this book is going out on top. Many times you see a final issue coast in as a lame duck, but since this series is going in a pseudo-limbo status, Duggan appears to be saving the best for last. Looking forward to see how it ends, even though I'll be sad to see it go. Either way, I give this issue a 10/10.
