This is literally a 4 issue crossover on one book. I'm not sure what the story was in making it, other than maybe giving some other people some work, but either way, the gang behind Daredevil and Powerman and Iron Fist have all gotten in on the action. All under the guise of Ben Urich, reporter for the Daily Bugle, the story revolves around Marvin Shirkley, a banker who handles money for crime syndicates all over town. There's some gangsters after their money and he hires Deadpool to protect him. He takes it on because one of the gangsters is Typhoid Mary, a former baddie of his who impersonated his girlfriend, basically raping him. Unfortunately for Marvin, he gives Deadpool a laptop that could essentially save him due to the troves of evidence on it, which he throws in the garbage can. What happens next is basically a 4 issue span of them getting it back.
First of all, it's through the offices of Matt Murdock that they eventually meet up with Daredevil, whom protects them from the goons while Deadpool gets his eyes burned out and makes an insane amount of blind jokes. They're unsuccessful in retrieving the laptop which eventually turns into Powerman and Iron Fist digging through a landfill. After awhile, they find it and take the fight back to the streets. Typhoid Mary steals a garbage truck but Deadpool catches up to her. He beats her up and exacts his revenge on her being evil to him in the past, gets the laptop back and 83 pages later, Marvin is safe. Ben Urich deletes his story and with that, this 4 issues in 1 adventure comes to an end.
This book makes no real secret that the goal is to be raunchy, bloody, and crude. Not that there's anything wrong with that. One of the things I look for in this character is that un-Marvel feel that allows you to maybe poke a little fun. Sometimes it delivers and sometimes not, but for this one, the story, the art - I'd say it's a winner. I give it a 9/10.
