The Avengers are on their way to find Nova's dad. Using an old ship the Fantastic Four abandoned, Tony Stark fashioned some type of propulsion engine using Thor's hammer, and blasted the group of these Avengers into space. Ms. Marvel and Spider-Man are pretty much floored by the view. Since it's old hat to Nova, he's less than impressed. With Vision using Nova's helmet to track for signs of his father, original Nova Jesse Alexader, the team finally get a hit. They fly close to the breathable planet, and as they plan to pull back, are blasted out of the sky and forced to make a crash landing.
As they investigate this strange landscape, Thor and Iron Man fly towards the source of what blasted them - a large tower fueled by a familiar looking bracelet. Meanwhile, the aliens tell Vision who translates to the group that at one point of every day, a large black hole appears, taking members of the prisoners stuck on the planet until it's full. Back in New Jersey, Jarvis takes the new Wasp Nadia Pym to meet her stepmother, original Wasp Janet Van Pym. She prepares for an uncomfortable meeting, but as the door to her estate flies open, she's hurriedly on her way to save the day. She tells Nadia they can talk on the way, and just like that it appears Stepdaughter and mother appear to be hitting it off.  Back on the mystery planet,  the Avengers conclude the only way to get off the planet is to let it the black hole take them too. As they're pulled into the hole they quickly find themselves prisoner. As they walk in chains, Ms Marvel makes a break for it. She's quickly struck down. For the person in charge of this scary planet appears to be the gigantic ethereal being Annihilus, and just as he flexes his muscles to pretty much destroy them, we're left to be continued.
Great book as usual. While I don't put this on the A+, greatest comics going right now... list.. it's pretty far up the ladder from seminal books like All New Wolverine and DC's current Superman. Pretty good story arc running in this one. I give it an 8/10.
