   Frank continues his search for Baron Zemo. But after going through Mandarin, Ambassador Winslow, David Caverly, the NYPD, and others, he finally runs into Nick Fury. Revealing help from Luke Cage, Bucky, Iron Fist and Hawkeye, the former SHIELD leader turns his favorite vigilante over the former Hydra leader in exchange for Zemo leaving the country. More thrill-a-minute writing from Rosenberg to go along with some of the most graphic artwork to make a Marvel book, I give this one an 8/10.

Dead Man Logan #2

SINS OF THE FATHER pt II

   Logan and Hawkeye continue the hunt for Mysterio, while Miss Sinister does her best to impress Sin with the master of illusion. Later, Forge proves to Logan he’s fixed the time machine but before he can go home, the berserker has to put the chase for Mysterio to bed.  Finally with a bead on him, Logan and Clint chase him down to Times Square - but the fight turns out to be a showdown with the Avengers? Brisson and Henderson keep the Old Man Logan saga going for at least another few issues, and they do it quite well. I give this one a 10/10.

Captain America #6

WINTER IN AMERICA pt VI

   Alexa recaps just how she resurected Alexander Lukin. Years prior, she managed to piece together Rasputin’s spirit. In doing so, the undead Russian leader introduces her to the eternal who can help her raise her former lover from the dead, Selene. Later she catches him up to speed on how the evil Steve Rogers clone managed to impose a Hydra world order. The issue concludes with Nick Fury informing Cap about Thaddeus Ross’ murder, with further news that his alibi isn’t necessarily holding up. More great writing from Ta-Nehesi Coates with Yu’s pencils still completely on point. I give this one a 9/10.

LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT pt II

   As Jonah is noticeably late from the Kingpin’s gala, he’s forced to relive moments of his life thanks to the villain Arcade. Some good but some excruciating. It wraps with him and Spider-Man finally matching up against the Socrpion. Thanks to an old Spider-Slayer machine, Jonah has a hand in helping defeat him. But it wraps with the intro of Spidey’s newest foe, the Big Man. Amazing writing continues from this creative team and the pencils still excel as well. I give this one an 8/10.

Uncanny X-Men #5

DISSASSEMBLED pt V

   As wars rage, X-Man listens to Apocalypse and gets rid of all religion on earth. Meanwhile Legion sits in Cerebro and manages to locate Nate Gray. The issue wraps with a father/daughter showdown between Polaris and Magneto, as well as Psylocke stabbing Warren with her psychic knife. Problem is that it destroys what was left of his docile nature and returns the Archangel to battle the X-Men once more. Tons of plot lines in a team driven X-Men arch, it doesn’t get a whole lot better than this. I give this one a 10/10.

X-Men Red #11

THE HATE MACHINE pt XI

   Tom Taylor’s X-Men Red drifts to a conclusion as the team battles Cassandra Nova in a surplus of Magneto helmets. Panic sets in as she threatens to crash a Helicarrier, but Gentle earns Thor’s respect as he holds it together. Luckily the team manages to distract Cassandra while they implant a nanite that forces her to feel empathy for other mutants. The issue wraps with Jean addressing the world and showing it her vision. But as this slow X-Men tale drifts to it’s end, we can finally at the very least be glad its over. I give this concluding issue a boring 6/10.

Miles Morales: Spider-Man #1

   The newest chapter in Miles' life begins with a retelling of his origin. Shining more of light on his personal life though, we meet Barbara. He meets her for ice cream days later and meets her little cousin Eduardo. Later he runs into the Rhino who's protecting niece, but he's shocked to see later that one of the culprits is none other than Eduardo. Slow restart to a longtime favorite, but Ahmed carries a big torch from Brian Michael Bendis' biggest creation. I give this one an 8/10.

Champions #27

WARRIORS OF THE WEIRD conclusion

   Still in Weirdworld, it’s revealed that the Master has brainwashed Sam and Nadia and transformed them into his own little army. He failed to account for the Champions though, in whatever form they’re in. Viv and Riri merge into a super, synthezoid Ironheart who finally able to break the spell. The team returns to earth and begins to pick up the pieces as the series wraps with Sparky being assimilated by an Ultron drone. What’ll happen next? Luckily the next chapter continues with Jim Zub at the helm because he’s shown he’s clearly a winner with this group of young heroes. I give this one a 10/10.
