Quick! Let's draw a comic book in 4 minutes! |
Meanwhile Henry enjoys some street food fare and Jimmy is adorned with necklaces. After some karaoke, the trio is beginning to have some fun when Jimmy sees a deal going down. As they pass a vial between them, he recognizes the scent. Jean and Henry realize he's gone and as he spies on the dealer, he finds out it's mutant growth hormone. Suddenly they're attacked, and a robotic scorpion graphically severs their pistol wielding hands. Jimmy looks at the vile wondering how he knows what it is, as a group called the Raksha further battles the drug dealers for preying on mutants. Jimmy intervenes to save the dealer's life, an action the attackers take exception to. Luckily Jean is there and shuts him down with a psy-attack. The rest of the group blitzes at her and Jimmy and Beast join in. The mutants discuss not fighting against children when one of them uses some kind of fear attack on Beast. Another puts a blade to Jean's neck when the sound of a familiar "snikt", combined with some counter attacks between them, all quickly diffuses the situation.
Apparently all the original artwork they had for this issue got coffee spilled on it. |
Once they see Jimmy's claws, the Raksha stands down and refuses to fight. They introduce themselves as the Raksha and the X-Men respond in kind. They tell them that the one known as Patch, aka Wolverine, is the reason they fight. They honor his legacy. Jean tells them that Wolverine is Jimmy's father. The Raksha tells them that as X-Men they understand their enemies. They wait in the shadows, they plot and prepare for their moment. The mutant growth hormone is another tool against them and has been a black market commodity in Madripoor lately.
After their aquantainces, they share some trade secrets like only mutant superhero teams can. Jean asks them to show them some super awesome ninja moves and with that, this issue is over.
Hey Raksha! Y'all stick around until we can find somebody that can draw. |
This has to be one of the worst penciled and inked comic books I've ever seen in my life. I don't understand where Marvel gets these people? I quietly raged against them for Mike Del Mundo's short run atop the Avengers recently, and now the newest artist to draw my ire will no doubt be Ray Allen Height. I don't know if maybe they had to get it wrapped up in a few minutes or if maybe someone's dog ate the other, completed version of issue #6. What's wrong with the cover artist - Arthur Adams? I see there will be yet another new penciler doing the next book. Hopefully he didn't study at the same school THIS guy went to. I give this one a 6/10.
