Logan flashes back to when the invasion started. As he and his family is in Manhattan, the SHIELD Helicarrier crashes into downtown and hordes of evil mutants descend upon them. Moon Knight, Daredevil, the Punisher, She-Hulk and more fall to Electro, Kraven, Green Goblin, and a myriad of villains throughout the Marvel Universe declare victory. Logan awakens from a dream and standing in his doorway is Jean Gray. Concerned for her friend, she and Cerebra take him on a tour of what eventually becomes his post-apocalyptic nightmare.
They visit New York, Pym Falls, and the former location of Charles Xavier's mansion in between flashbacks of Ant Man, Wasp, Jubilee and other X-Men and Avengers being killed during a war he remembers but she's trying to convince him never happened. She surprises him with a night out with his friends Puck, Hawkeye, Captain America and even Jubilee. After some brews, Jean and Logan walk outside and he thanks her for keeping him line. He' finally realizes he doesn't have to face this questionable future alone, and with that the issue comes to an end.
This title has got to be the greatest hidden gem in Marvel's current library. Drawn so abstractly and amazingly written, it just gets better and better every issue. A true joy to read, I give it a 10/10 and can't wait for the next one.
