After Elodie reminds Michonne they need to “know their place”, Sebastian asks like a complete asshole again, and slaps his mother’s head of security, Mercer. The guard later explains that the city isn't filled with all bad apples.

Something just jumps out at me that Sebastian won't make it to issue #200

Later Siddiq tells the group about Mercer in the locker room, talking about not liking the governor, but they mostly disregard this. They continue on discussing how wealth is distributed in the Commonwealth, get it, with past lives as a barometer. Magna completely disagrees and continues she wants nothing to do with this community.

She mad.

Lance later meets with Michonne and asks that she stay, as a lawyer of her status would be very welcome here. Soon after, she meets with Pamela and the caravan who are departing to meet with Rick. Telling Eugene she's staying, she gives him her sword as a sign to Rick that she trusts this new development.

They depart and over the course of the trip, Pam kind of rubs everyone the wrong way with her displays of wealth and classicism. Meanwhile Lance shows Michonne her new apartment - one of which Elodie is clearly in awe over.

Nice digs.

Back at Alexandria, Dwight tries his best to make up with Laura when the Commonwealth soldiers show up. He scrambles the army just as Rick sees the sword on Eugene's back. After the scare, Eugene tells him that it's a symbol of Michonne's complete trust in Pam. He walks towards the caravan, eager to meet his new neighbors and introduces himself.

It's Rick.

Rick walks Pamela all around town, showing her everything. Along the way, they trade stories about their different circumstances. Wars and battles - some of whom had to fight a lot harder than others. They eventually discuss the differences in houses and status.

Obviously this is the main point of contention between them, and as the book wraps, it's clear that their opinions look to likely clash in the future. With that, this story arc comes to a close, but the relationship between Alexandria and the Commonwealth is just the beginning.

N.W.O.

And thus ends the New World Order storyline. Certainly less bloodier than I expected, this arc was great on dialogue, short on action. But it's not like that's any real shock from Kirkman. You can't have a zombie apocalypse without a lot of talking. And interestingly enough, I wouldn't expect the conflict to be fixed without a lot of input from towns like the Commonwealth. Still on the right track, I give these two issues a 9/10.
