Gamora is determined to break into the Triskelion to find her father, Thanos. As she stares at it from afar, a task force comprised of Spectrum, Aurora, Ms. America and Sasquatch plans to engage her on orders of Captain Marvel. She strikes first, deflecting a shot from Spectrum which hits Sasquatch. After a punch from Ms America she leaps up and attacks Aurora and Sasquatch head on. Finally blasted from the rooftop, she presumably falls from the building but sneaks into an occupied building, shushing a child on the way. As she rounds the corners of the home, she's attacked by Ms America in a couple's bedroom, incapacitated and returned to Captain Marvel.
Restrained, Carol Danvers tells her that Thanos is no longer on Earth. She pulls some strings and has her rendezvous with a Shi'ar transport, with passage to anywhere she wants to go except Earth. Once onboard, she's transferred from Abigail Brand's custody to Gladiator but during their conversation, he informs her that prisoner's skin is the wrong hue. Removing the restraints, Brand realizes that it was one of her crew Gamora had disguised while she escaped. Letting them all know that Gamora doesn't really believe Thanos has left earth, the base is put on lockdown. Back at the Triskelion, some battle gear equipped SHIELD agents prepare for a fight. The unit explodes and one soldier wanders off. As the soldier nears the cellblock in question, she removes her helmet and there stands Gamora. She opens the cell, walks inside and without warning, the cell door is slammed behind her. Carol Danvers appears as a hologram telling her she shouldn't have come back.
Enraged, Gamora demands she open the door. She punches mightily, again and again until her first are bloodied. Screaming to be freed, the Ultimates walk away. She tells them they can't leave her here and with that, the issue comes to a close and left to be continued.
Obviously they've lost Kitty Pryde back to whatever faction of X-Men they plan to stick her in, but at least they still have Gamora. Being the daughter of Thanos is always going to provide you with good source material and Brian Michael Bendis once again of course takes advantage of it. As dialogue between Captain Marvel and anyone in the universe he can stick on the other end of it has proven, he can do a lot with a little and shows that here. I give this one a 9/10 and look forward to seeing where it goes.
