Just wanted to say that.

   Now back to what I wanted to say. I've always wanted a comic book store and maybe one day I'll get my wish. Until then, I'm still a collector. My stash is getting bigger and bigger, and I've been looking for some good crates. If any of you dudes or dude-ettes know where I can get some good deals on it, please let me know.

   Also, I'm about to embark on the planning stages of a little project on my mind. As many of you know, this website was initially created to read EVERY SINGLE ISSUE of Amaizing Spider-Man, from the 60's to today. I'm still trying to do that, but in the interim, I've found a lot more interest in a lot more comics...

   Another thing I've been looking forward to doing. This might require some filmography... and time. Both of which I don't have a lot of access to at the moment, but none the less. Ok - here's goes. I want to collect every print issue of Uncanny X-Men ever. From 1963 on. I've got an insane amount of them now. Hundreds. Earliest I currently have is #18 from 1960-whatever... I've got tons in the 200's, 300's, 400's, and 500's. Obviously fewer in the earlier numbers but I'm working on that.

Either way, it's something I'll be working towards. Let me know if you wanna trade anything or if you have a lot of comics with mostly X titles in it.

Guardians of the Galaxy 7

   Rocket is walking out of a Badoon prisoner transport, and giving them a steady diet of his signature attitude, just as the Thing falls from orbit and completely scatters the guards. He explains to the last one left, a big one, that he's taking all of the prisoners with them before punching his lights out, only later realizing his earlier entry knocked over their getaway ship.

   Thing tells Rocket to repair the ship while this hot chick alien with blue skin surrounded by other little children aliens of various appearances takes a liking to old Ben Grimm. Unfortunately she doesn't speak english, but luckily a kid in her entourage does. He translates as Thing tells them he's getting every single one of them off the planet. Unfortunately though, they're not quite fast enough and the second wave of badoon guards tries to thwart their escape. 

   Grimm blasts the remaining resistance and before long, they're airborne. The lady he was smitten with does something to him involving a huge flash of blue light. Rocket is clearly jealous of their newfound romance, but doesn't have much time to dwell on it as a worldwide transmission comes across the channels. Star Lord has been sentenced to die for leading the Spartaxx against the Baddoon. What will Rocket, the Thing, and all their rescued prisoners do next? Guess we'll have to wait till the next issue.

   I'm not sure if Bendis is spending most of his time with this book over the others, but it appears he's definitely putting in some work. The story is good, the art by Valerio Schiti, which is the coolest name in comic artistry, is crisp and this book is surprisingly delivering. I give this issue a 9/10.

Deadpool #9

   Two uniformed SHIELD agents visit the Mercs' apparent undercover SHIELD agent accountant Scott Adsit to ask why his SHIELD login was accessed in Canada. Meanwhile the battle with Sabretooth rages on in front of a school bus, revealing that Sabretooth may not be as guilty as Wade thinks. Eventually, Deadpool is thrown off a cliff and onto the hood of some tourists' car.

   Victor can't understand how Deadpool doesn't remember who killed his parents. Thanks to a flashback, we not only learn that He himself had a pretty terrible childhood. But also that thanks to Butler, Deadpool was tricked into burning his parents to death. Sabretooth tells Magneto he needs to go and set things straight, while meanwhile back on the hood of the car he just fell through, Deadpool take some selfies with a few folks before heading to "meet a guy for a bite...". Where that destination supposedly is, a seedy biker restaurant called Kaminsky's, is where Sabretooth sits waiting - enjoying a few undercooked steaks, and for Deadpool to meet him.

   I know this is a c-level book that Marvel is just screwing around with, and they definitely don't do anything to hide it. The art is bland and the story is empty. I guess it's kind of what I expected, and if it wasn't for Deadpool being a huge movie, I probably wouldn't waste time reading this title. But meh, I guess I'll just keep waiting for something cool to happen. 6/10.

Old Man Logan #4

   Steve Rogers, the old version of Captain America looks at the old version of Logan and tries to calm him down. He obviously isn't having that, snikts out his claws and is immediately knocked unconscious by Cap's shield, sending him into yet another family flashback. He comes to while tied to a tree in Alberta, with Rogers asking him to give him his word to not flip out so he can take off the restraints. He does so, but as soon as he's freed, Sorrentino unleashes a massive 4 page inkspread of the fight between the three of them, cleverly forming Cap's star on one end and a Canadian maple leaf on the other. During the melee, Logan screams something about having to stop the future from happening. 

   Finally settled down, Cap shows him what he brought Logan out here to see - Wolverine's tomb, where almost certainly his body in THIS timeline rests. He explains that in his mind, everyone is dead - his family even killed by a gang of hulks. Hearing enough, Cap lets him go and Logan does what he does best, drifts through the Canadian wilderness. Suddenly discovered by a sentinal, he jumps up for the kill, to which Cerebra (if you've been keeping up with the Extraordinary X-Men) begs to be spared. He then sees Iceman and Storm and like I mentioned, I suppose sets up his re-upped membership to planet X...

   I'm a big fan of this book. I like the abstract art and the stories compliment each other perfectly. You feel alone in this comic which is just how I think they want you to feel. The storyline is good and I'm looking forward to where it's going. 10/10

Invincible Iron Man #8

   Trying to get to Tokyo as fast as he can to recuse War Machine, Tony meets up with Spiderman and the investigate the last spot Rhodes' armor reported from... a rooftop of an apartment building. They find a piece of a car and surmise that Rhodes' flew a 2007 Corvette onto the roof and then destroyed it. Iron Man then tells Spiderman there were ninjas in the car, which is info I have no idea how he knew. Meanwhile, Rhodes is in trouble but is fighting back... in his underwear. He gets the upperhand on Tomoe and her ninjas however, and is about to escape when Tony and Spidey come bounding through the window. 

   A small flashback sheds a little more light on what happens with MJ's job interview...of which she apparently was hired but then quits. She's upset for reasons unknown, but I guess it helps the story so she storms out. Back in the present, Ironman is immediately stripped of his armor and Spidey his webshooters by Tomoe's super magnetic powers. They all fight back hand to hand and unarmed, and they seem to be doing a good enough job until Tomoe sends her guards away... indicating something huge is about to happen. Tony tells his team to run, while Tomoe tells him that whatever is about to happen will be on him.. And with that (I think) the factory explodes and the rest of the story will obviously be continued.

   I have raved about my boy Bendis and his writing style but this issue was quick and weak. I don't know if he had a deadline or was working on a bunch of other books, but this story is boring and bland. The art was ok but nothing spectacular. He hasn't let me down before but sorry, dudes. Kinda meh. I give it a 5/10.

Action Comics #964

   After Superman saves Clark Kent from being thrown off the Geneticron Building, he brings him to one of his "Fortresses of Solitude" for a little chat. Supes uses the globe of revelation on him and determines that everything he's saying is the truth. He also thinks that Clark may be the original Superman brought back to life but his memories of Smallville seem to prove otherwise.

   Meanwhile back in Metropolis, an intruder plants a small bomb at an entryway into Geneticron and the reader is left to assume he gets in. Back at the fortress, Clark tells Superman that the original Superman told him his investigation had put Clark in danger. He told him to hide out while HE assumed both roles of Superman AND Clark until it blew over, but while this was going on, Superman supposedly died. Before taking him back home, Superman asks Clark to write about him to get the public's trust and gives him a special watch in case he ever needs help. Kelex also reveals from accessing Genetircon security footage, the company was holding Doomsday until goons broke in and unleashed him on Metropolis again. 

   Superman and Clark head back and find out the entire Geneticron building is gone and nobody knows where it went. Clark goes back to the Planet and writes a story on why the world should trust this new Superman, who's every bit as good as the original. Superman flies back to the Kent farm and shows Lois and Jon some cool escape pod he's been working on in case they're ever in trouble.

   Finally a mysterious figure stands in front of a ominous, destructive looking ball emblazoned with the House of El logo and says that the path is clear and the only answer is death. And with that we're left with a "To Be Continued".

   I'm new to Action Comics but I can tell you, I seriously enjoyed this story. Like my affection for the Uncanny X-Men, I like old titles and this one is pretty much the oldest still in print. I'm looking forward to seeing where this one is going. 9/10.
