Thor #15-16: War's End

WARS END

Written by Jason Aaron
Penciled by Mike Del Mundo
Published July-Aug 2019

Now with the War of the Realms over, Thor is having a hard time adjusting to his new All Father role. But as the Asgardians wrap everything up, there's still things that need tending to. Jane Foster begins to accept the fact she's now a Valkyrie. Loki returns to Jotunheim, now defeating his father as the new King of the Frost Giants. And Malekith is forced to witness the never-ending torture of his non-corrupted self, which turns out to be a young version of him playing with puppies and kittens.
Meanwhile with his coronation looming, Thor seems to be avoiding it. Instead he continues working on Midguard trying to fix every error marred by the Malekith's war. Even Loki arrives to give his brother a gift - a resurrected Toothgnasher. But Thor instead keps writing wrongs, even delivering his buffet to the starving elves. The story ends with the Thors brought from other timelines bidding their goodbyes, but ends with an ominous note. Super old Future Thor is zipping through space to his own time when he encounters a mysterious, powerful Loki wielding the Necrosword. So how will he ever survive it? We'll have to wait to find out in King Thor, our favorite Asguardian's continuation, coming soon - as this 16 issue series comes to a final conclusion.
Ok, so can there be any better writer for Thor than Jason Aaron? And also, as much as I've complained on Mike Del Mundo's work on the Avengers, it has to be stated - this is the perfect element for his work. I know we'll get Jason's next best with the King Thor miniseries, but I'm going to miss what they were able to do in this one. It was really something. I give this two issue denouement a 10/10.
