WE SAID HELLO, GOODBYE

Rocket insults Earth and Pete takes up for his once home. They're looking for Infinity Stones, while Gamora meets with Doctor Strange inside the Soul World. He explains to her that the reflection may not have her best interests at heart but he'll keep searching.

Strange slammed that door like a boss.

On the other side of town, Drax meets with Cable who tells him he doesn't know what he's talking about. As he takes off, it turns out it was Loki in disguise. He learns of Gamora and Strange's meeting but takes solace in the fact the Guardians have yet to discover anything.
Outside the ship, Quill, Rocket and Drax roast hot dogs when Gamora demands they leave. During boarding, Rocket smells something and finds a stowed-away Deadpool proving that Gerry Duggan has a problem ever leaving his little cash cow out of one of his books. They toss him out and take off. Now airborne, Rocket scratches an itch and it turns out to be Ant Man.

At least it isn't Deadpool!

Gamora pulls a blade on him while he explains. He asks if any of them have effed up so bad before that they have to leave an entire planet - a situation all of them share except Gamora. Rocket tells him nobody wants to hear his story but he is cool enough to ride with them. He asks where Groot is and all hell breaks loose.

Where's the dancing tree?!

The Guardians pull a u-turn and head back to the swamp. There baby Groot hangs with Man-Thing, who tells him he doesn't have any clues as to the locations of the infinity stones, but does show them various dimensions with other incarnations of the team. Bigger Groots, Major Victory, Moondragon, Captain Marvel, and even Cosmo the Space Dog. Man-Thing tells them he'll keep an eye out.

For being a plant...thing, Man-Thing has a lot figured out.

The issue concludes with Ant Man recruiting some ants for the trip and running onto the ship. They're just about to take off when a horde of Nova Corps run aboard and tell them all they're coming with them. With that, we're left to be continued.
This seems to be one of the last holdout series tying a few ends together before joining the Legacy train but with this conclusion, everything looks to be full speed ahead. The next issue teases the group joining the Novas and preparing for who-knows-what. I'm just excited to see the re-numbering. No other series was rebooted more than this one, a fact that has been extremely irritating and finally looks to give them a little more continuity. As far as this issue, I give it a 9/10.
