   Vice Principal Lyle Dutcher has got it out for Miles, and vows to bust the teenager on a day when his friends talk him into skipping school. While Miles and Barbara sneak kisses on the 2 train, Dutcher seeks his prey. Luckily Spider-Man is around to save the teens from a train derailment and later an attack from the Frost Pharaoh. Later on they sneak in a movie and hustle back to the school Ferris Bueller style, returning uncaught. Saladin Ahmed and Javier Garron keep the antics up for the webcrawler in epic style. I give this little one shot an 8/10.

Immortal Hulk #15

THE HOLY OR THE BROKEN

   Doc Sampson reasons with the Hulk while the hole in his head shrinks. He tells Doc he has to go, and while they're on the way, Hulk explains to his old super-psychiatrist that he's a new persona. Not the demon hulk but a rational, traditional Hulk trapped away from Banner. But one thing's for sure - they all come back. And the issue ends with them standing at the empty grave of Rick Jones. But what happens next? Al Ewing and Joe Bennett keep the hulk horror going, and we get a front row seat. I give this one a 9/10

THE FINAL GAUNTLET pt III

   Hela and the Dark Order finally track down Annhillus and recover the head of Thanos. Meanwhile, the Dark Guardians manage to save Nova from the Wraith before he takes off. Meanwhile, the real Guardians convince Star Lord they have to save Gamora, thanks to Groot’s magnificent rebellious stage. Either way, Quill finally gives them a destination - HalfWorld. But what’s gonna happen next? Donny Cates continues to pen an amazing story with more than adequate artwork from Geoff Shaw. I give this one a 10/10.

Avengers #17

WAR OF THE VAMPIRES pt IV

   With the Winter Guard thinking they’ve defeated Dracula, the Avengers are left to deal with the Russian prison now streaming with new vampires. But more pressing, Blade gets his chance to square off against the Colonel. The fight is bloody, and though Black Panther tries his best to take prisoners, Blade clearly has a different approach. The issue ends with the squad back at Avengers Mountain licking their wounds. But in Chernobyl, it’s clear Dracula has a new headquarters. So with the War of the Realms about to kick off, Jason Aaron wraps this one up in epic fashion and David Marquez’s pencils are still as sharp as ever. I give this one an 8/10.

X-Force #4

SINS OF THE PAST pt IV

   President Constantin prepares to confront Ahab for killing his son, although the latter has recently gained Deathlok's future telling powers. Meanwhile, young Cable informs Domino their real search has been for Rachel Summers all along. The story arc finally concludes with X-Force clashing with both Constantin and Ahab, but in the wake of their battle, one of their greatest enemies of all time walks through the portal. Stryfe has returned, and this time Ed Brisson is going to finally spill the beans on Cable Jr's origins. A great issue all around, I give this one an 8/10.

STARK REALITIES pt IV

   As the Controller continues his rampage, Bethany McCabe is able to finally get control of herself. The interruption allows Sunset Bain to get the advantage in the eScape program, but locked inside another corner of the program still pits Tony against his birth mother, Amanda. Luckily Machine man is able to create a diversion but it seems all for naught. The real Tony Stark is not real anymore, and in fact created the entire video game landscape to become himself again. Confusing, yes - but still an amazing story. Dan Slott keeps giving us just what we need in an Iron Man story and the artwork is as crisp as ever. I give this one a 9/10.
