   Spider-Man and Jonah Jameson staredown the Big Man, who turns out to be Frederick Foswell Jr - son of legendary reporter and supervillain Frederick Foswell Sr. As his plan to murder the webslinger crumbles, Jonah is able to subdue him and Spider-Man is able to ditch the explosive robotic suit. The issue ends with Jonah telling off the Kingpin at his faux-award presentation. Nick Spencer continues to give nods to the old school and Ryan Ottley keeps up the artwork that would make Stan Lee and Steve Ditko proud. I give this one a 10/10.

THE WOMAN WITH THE VIBRANIUM GUN

   Roz Solomon, former agent of SHIELD is now an Agent of Wakandia. With the War Of The Realms coming, her first mission is to infiltrate a dark elf hangout in Queens. She does so and after torturing a frost giant to death, learns about the creation of a new black bifrost. The issue wraps with her almost killing Dario Aggar but pulling back - right as Thor’s uncle Cul Borson learns of the dark transport as well. Jason Aaron has almost created a companion to his Avengers title, and it’s clear he serves as the architect of the War Of The Realms. And what a great place for him to be. I give this one a 9/10.

THE ESCAPE pt IV

   Luke is confronted by Tula after learning he activated his distress beacon. Further, the group continues to fall out of favor with Markona when some strange visitors arrive, responding to the distress call. Thane goes out to greet them and the rebels learn it’s Sergeant Kreel and his Scar Squadron. With Sana Starros as a prisoner, it falls upon Luke to duel the stormtrooper lightsaber to lightsaber. But what happens next? Kieron Gillen’s run begins to drift to an end on this book, but he makes sure it’s on his terms. I give this one a 10/10.

WAR IN BAGALIA pt I

   Between torturing archnemesis Frank Castle and unsuccessfully navigating diplomacy, Baron Zemo deals with a country brimming on collapse. Meanwhile, he puts the Punisher in a Hydra prison where he eventually tires of taking the other prisoners’ crap. The issue ends with Frank suffering in isolation before meeting his biggest challenge ever - Sister Mercy. Although it’s easy to run wild with total violence in this book, Matt Rosenberg brings to life an amazing constant redemption story. I give this one a 9/10.

Miles Morales: Spider Man #2

   Thanks to some web-sleuthing from Ganke, Spider-Man and Rhino meet up again to try and find Eduardo and the other brainwashed supervillain kids. What they find is Tombstone at the middle of it all, and after Miles discovers just how hard it is to defeat him, even has Rhino left licking his wounds. Luckily they're soon joined by Captain America to help them with their plight. Saladin Ahmed continues to keep things fun and light without weighing you down with a whole lot of conjecture. I give this one an 8/10.

   Using Legion’s body, Nate Gray is able to possess even Storm and he leads his Horsemen Of Salvation against the X-Men. Jean sends out a worldwide psychic distress call and Armor buys some time. X-Man finally decides it best to sink the continent they all stand on but underestimates the X-Men’s resolve, as every person that’s able to be considered part of the team shows up for the fight. While I think this weekly series is still a bit behind what Avengers was able to cook up for No Surrender, this book is no slouch. I give it a 9/10.

THE AGENTS OF WAKANDA

   While Black Panther chairs the Avengers, he needs an intelligence wing to fill the gap once patrolled by SHIELD. This issue dispels just how he fills that void, recruiting Gorilla Man, Ka-Zar, Broo, Man Wolf, Odin, Fat Cobra, Dr. Nemesis, and American Eagle. But what they do will likely pale in comparison to what newest Avenger Blade has planned. This series continues to impress. Even though this newest squad is at the least bit.. um, interesting, I give this one a 10/10.

Uncanny X-Men #8

DISASSEMBLED pt XII

   The X-Men continue to fight the earthbound disciples of Nate Gray, and are soon joined by his council - including none other than the evil Apocalypse. Later the team realizes their younger counterparts are stuck inside an alternate dimension, and Bishop is transported to them care of Psylocke’s psychic blade. There a stare-off between Legion and X-Man commences, and in it’s aftermath the young heroes are transported back to the present. The issue ends with the X-Men facing off with Legion. But what’ll happen next? This writing team continues it’s historic run, plus with a stable of unbelievably talented artists, the sky’s the limit. I give this one a 9/10.
