   Luke and Markona storm towards the attacking Thanrax. Later, Tula reveals to Luke that her grandmother was a Jedi and her father sought refuge and retirement on Hubin. While they wait for a transport out, Luke tells Han and Leia that he’s built a transmitter to call for help. But Leia explains waiting it out is the plan. She’s built a way to destroy Shu-Torun forever. Where do the rebels go from here? Keiron Gillen shows why he’s still a Jedi master in his own right. I give this one an 8/10.

Immortal Hulk #10

THAUMIEL

   Alpha Flight pursues Hulk, later finding him fighting with the mutilated Absorbing Man. Meanwhile, Shadow Base mulls executing him. But in the time everyone waits to do anything, Creel runs towards the original blast site of Banner’s gamma exposure. Everyone fights the Hulk as he tries to explain but it’s too late. The issue ends with the Green Door opening and exposing everyone to Bruce Banner’s hell. More of the greatest horror comic genre from Al Bennet, this series continues at a high point. I give this one a 9/10.

Deadpool #7

CHRISTMAS MISSED US

   In a move I could have never seen happening, Deadpool gets hired by a bunch of stiffed kids to kill Santa Clause. When he arrives in the north pole, he learns that Santa's elves went on strike. Deadpool takes out Tinsel, the head elf and after returning the labor, helps Santa deliver some presents. Quick writing that hopefully begins to grow just a little more substance, I give this one a 7/10.

   As the X-Men battle dinosaurs and Multiple Men, Legion walks through the doors of the mansion and rather immediately loses control. Meanwhile Jean and company find the real Jamie Madrox and return home to fight their old nemesis when suddenly Magneto, Blob, Omega Red and Archangel blow up their house? The hits keep coming and this writing crew steadily delivers.. I give this one a 9/10.

PURGATORY

   The X-Men are finally able to get a bead on their former teammate. Watching him enter Soteira, they try to reach him but are assaulted by a group of people who are obviously unaffected by telepaths. One of them finds Logan and explains they were attacked by mutants. Unable to remember his former team, Wolverine pulls his punches but releases the berserker. What will happen next? Still amazing writing from Charles Soule although Shalvey's artwork fails to match his talents. I give this one an 8/10.

Fantastic Four #4

IRREPLACEABLE

   As the Fantastic Four say their goodbyes, they learn that Spider-Man lost the Baxter Building in a the bankruptcy of Parker Industries. And once they return to New York, they find a new group of heroes called the Fantastix in their place. Luckily Val is able to quickly deduce the situation is a sham, and the crew ends the issue as Big Ben's new roomies. Still proof that Dan Slott is the GOAT, I give this quick read a 9/10.

Dead Man Logan #1

SINS OF THE FATHER pt I

   So Logan is apparently not dead yet. He tries to track down Mysterio but ends up tipping off Miss Sinister in the process. In Brooklyn he's joined by Hawkeye, but not before the last criminal in his conquest is found by Sinister first. She convinces him to join her while Forge discovers a portal to Logan's alternate universe. The issue ends with Sinister and Mysterio joining Red Skull's daughter SIn. What'll happen next? We'll have to wait to find out. I give this one a 9/10.

Daredevil #612

THE DEATH OF DAREDEVIL finale

   Daredevil receives medical treatment before once again squaring off against the Vigil. Once again on the run, he overhears a conversation that proves Fisk stole the election. He's able to build a case against him and the people of New York finally recall the illegitimate mayor. Or do they. The book ends with Daredevil finally unmasking the Vigil to reveal it's himself?! Matt sees Karen Page at the end of the tunnel, and his heart wave eventually flattening. Absolute brilliant writing from Marvel's best, Charles Soule. His run ends on this very issue which to me gets a solid 10/10.
